A typical strip-out

Three days. Then it is yours again.

Day 1
Contain and disconnect

Dust walls up, floors protected, water and power isolated by a licensed trade. Fixtures, cabinets and finishes out by the afternoon.

Day 2
Strip to the studs

Drywall, ceilings, flooring and insulation out. Bins swapped as they fill so nothing sits in your driveway.

Day 3
Sweep and sign off

Nails pulled, floors swept, a walk-through with photos. Your contractor starts on a clean site the next morning.

Ontario requires a designated-substances survey before demolition of older buildings. Confirm with your municipality; we will not strip a suspect material without one.

Questions people ask first

For a non-structural strip-out, usually no, but the renovation that follows will need one, and any wall that carries load needs a permit before it comes out. Full tear-downs always need a demolition permit. We tell you which applies at the site walk.

Ontario's designated-substances rules mean a survey for asbestos and similar materials comes first. If the survey finds something, it is removed by a licensed abatement crew before demolition continues. [Whether that crew is ours depends on licensing Kam confirms.]
